Getting around Munich

Workshop venue

The Bavarian Academy of Sciences is kindly hosting the workshop. It is housed within the Royal Residence.

There are no parking spaces outside the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and we strongly recommend the use of public transport.

Underground (U-Bahn): U3, U4, U5, U6 Odeonsplatz
Metropolitan trains (S-Bahn): S1-S8 Marienplatz
Tram: 19 Nationaltheater
Bus: 100 Odeonsplatz

The workshop venue is located a 5-minute walk from the underground stop “Odeonsplatz” and a 10-minute walk from the underground and metropolitan train stop “Marienplatz”. A location map can be downloaded here.

Reaching the workshop venue from the airport

Take metropolitan trains S1 or S8 to the city centre. Trains run approximately every ten minutes and it is a 40-minute train ride to “Marienplatz”.

Reaching the workshop venue from the central station (Hauptbahnhof)

Take any of the eastbound metropolitan train lines (S-Bahn) and get off two stops later at “Marienplatz”.
